Andean Plateau

Collahuasi’s deposits are located on the plateau of northern Chile’s Atacama Desert at 4,400 metres above sea level in an Andean area characterised by a rainy climate in summer and occasional snow in winter. The town of Huatacondo is 40 kilometres from the operation and, at 130 kilometres and 135 kilometres, respectively, are the towns of Pica and Matilla, surrounded by areas of great value for their biodiversity which includes salt flats and wetlands.
